This theory is in contrast to the filmic theory of the white male gaze, which aggressively penetrates the image of the passive white female upon the screen. 2 The masculine and feminine principles have, by themselves, no kind of “right to exist”. They only exist to create something new together, just as a mother and a father create a child (which certainly doesn’t mean that every woman and every man must produce offspring in order to fulfill their life plan!).
